Russ Ford is the Executive Vice President Onshore Gas for Shell Upstream Americas. In this role, he has responsibility for all onshore development and production of natural gas in North America. This includes subsurface engineering, drilling and completion operations, and producing operations. The Onshore Gas business is mainly centered in the lower 48 states and western Canada.

Ford assumed his present position in July 2009 after having served a role responsible for all onshore and offshore development in the western hemisphere since August 2005. He started with Shell in New Orleans as a production engineer in onshore operations in 1981. Since then he has served in a variety of technical, research, operations and commercial assignments in Texas, New Orleans, California and the Netherlands.

Ford holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Michigan, and an MBA from California State University.
